Motorists on the Warrego Highway between Dalby and Dulacca may experience traffic disruption over the coming months as the Department of Transport and Main Roads installs wide centre lines in various locations.
The highway will be resealed and wide centre lines installed on three short sections – just west of Brigalow, just west of Drillham and between Waituna Road intersection and Dulacca.
Wide centre lines are a safety feature designed to separate traffic travelling in opposing directions using one-metre-wide lines marked on the highway surface.
Some sections of the Warrego Highway west of Miles will also be widened to accommodate the wide centre lines. Works are scheduled to start west of Miles on Wednesday, 7 April 2021 and between Dalby and Miles in mid-April 2021. All works are expected to be completed by mid-June 2021, weather permitting.
There will be minimal disruption to property accesses but nearby residents may experience temporary construction noise and dust impacts. No access upgrades are planned. Property owners will be notified in advance of the works occurring at their access.
Single lane closures and traffic management will be in place. The majority of the road works will occur between 6am and 6pm Monday to Friday. However, some weekend and night works may be required. Signage will direct road users.
We thank road users for your patience and understanding during the delivery of these important works and apologise for any inconvenience they may cause.
