The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) wishes to advise residents, motorists and business operators that speed limit changes will occur on the Warrego Highway on the western approach to Dalby, and on the service road to the industrial estate adjacent to the highway.
TMR recently completed a review of the speed zones on this section of the highway following concerns expressed about the speed limits following the recent highway upgrade. As a result, the following changes to existing speed limits on the Warrego Highway will apply once new
signage is installed:
– the 60km/h zone will increase to 70km/h from just west of the railway line (east of Dalby-
Jandowae Rd intersection) to just west of the Caltex Service Station
– from just west of the Caltex Service Station, the 100 km/h zone will be reduced to 80 km/h
through to west of Watt Street where it will become 100km/h.
In addition, a recent review of the service road speed limits has recommended the speed be increased from 60km/h to 70km/h from the western end of the service road to immediately west of Caltex Service Station where it will return to 60km/h. The eastern end of the service road will remain at 60km/h.
During the recent Warrego Highway upgrade through Dalby, the old highway became a service road to nearby industrial premises while the new highway was realigned to the south. The signage reflecting the speed limit changes will be installed in the near future.
